I am convinced the Strait of Hormuz being shut was the intention.  The USA ran a mafia protection racket with the gulf countries.  Use the US Dollar or we burn your business down.  They flirted with using BRICS payment systems to they got burnt down.   Just remember what goes around comes around so don't be surprised when you are looted too.
